They will encourage you to make amends.
They will say things like, But theyrefamily, as if that means something.
As if a blood relation gives someone permission to treat you like shit.
When you cut out a toxic relative, youre going to lose more than that person.
It sucks to admit that their love for you wasnt enough to change them.
The pain will last longer than you want to admit.
They might not care.
They might drop a million excuses.
You cant save them.
you could only save yourself.
Youre not going to get out of the situation unscathed.Toxic people will change you.
Maybe youll develop a fear of commitment.
Maybe youll have trust issues.
However, unlike your relative, it’s possible for you to do something about the problem.
If you want to change, you might change.
You just have to put in the work.
you’re free to consider your friends your family.
you’re free to consider your partner your family.
After all, thats what a real family does.
