You might understand their thought process.

You might even be able to forgive them for causing you so much pain.
But you have to keep in mind, the act of forgiveness doesnt entail anything else.
That is a dangerous way to think.
Just because youve been able to find it in your heart to forgive them doesnt mean you originally overreacted.
It doesnt mean you suddenly realized it was stupid to be angry in the first place.
And it certainly doesnt mean they get to keep repeating the same bad behavior.
Sometimes, even though your forgiveness is genuine, its not enough.
Sometimes, things will never go back to the way they were because the dynamic has changed.
Your trust has been broken.
This person has shown you a side of themselves you never realized existed.
However, you also need to focus on forgivingyourselffor your past mistakes.
You should offer yourself the same forgiveness youve given everyone else.
