Stuck.

Have you ever felt stuck in life?

Like no matter what you do, you cant seem to move forward or pick up momentum?

Youre out of bright ideas, and your old tricks dont work anymore.

Your favorite music falls flat, your favorite books become unreadable.

Every day feels the same as the last.

Youre just fucking stuck.

Heres what Ive learned about being stuck: it sucks.

Its depressing, and its soul-sucking, and its frustrating, and it leaves you feeling hopeless and useless.

Being stuck can lead to mental health disorders like depression and anxiety.

It can cause insomnia or make you want to sleep all day.

It can leave you feeling empty and helpless, like nothing you do matters.

If youre reading this and youre stuck, heres what I want you to do.

Open your hands and lift them to the sky.

Scream and yell and curse get it all out.

Beg with every fiber in your being for something to grasp onto.

Beg like your life depends on it.

Then open your eyes.

Chances are, your hands are still empty.

And thats the beauty of being stuck.

You have nothing holding you down, nothing holding you back.

With your empty hands, youre going to create something new.

This is the hard part.

This is the clay in which you will mold your new beginning.

Because, if were honest, being stuck isnt just an inconvenience.

Its you breaking up with what wasnt working before, no matter how much it seemed like it was.

In a way, your stuckness is a blessing.

Youve been let go from something that no longer serves you, whether you liked it or not.

Thank you, next.

Youre goal is to open yourself to curiosity.

Your closed-off mind is what got you stuck.

Now, its time to open it.

Do not, and I repeat, do not shut down.

Do not burrow back into your cave that you called home throughout your stuckness.

You must remain open.

You must be willing.

Its going to be hard, but itll be worth it.

Along the way, youre going to pick up little pieces of you that you never knew existed.

And then, one day, youre going to wake up with hands so full you cant close them.

Youre going to be so fulfilled and so on fire that your stuckness will be a distant memory.

But theres one more thing youre going to do, and this is important.

And with your next breath, youre going to say thank you.
