Dont say itll be okay or take a stab at be happier or think of good things!

Dont take a stab at squish this anxiety, dont take a stab at make it go away.

It is a complicated, awful, suffocating coat that they cant take off.

Offer to sit with them, to talk to them, to just be with them.

Thats it, sometimes thats all you should probably say.

Sometimes that is all they need you to do.

They dont need you to fix their anxiety.

Listen to them.Do not worry about trying to understand.

If you dont understand, that is okay.

Your instinct might be to tell them to sign up for yoga.

To buy them relaxing candles.

To take them on a trip.

To teach them how to meditate.

Its okay that you want to help.

Its alright that your instinct is to want todosomething active to help them.

Thats because youre human and you care about them.

But for once, ignore your instinct.

They dont need your candles, your meditation app, your cousins anxiety cure.

They just need you to remind them that theyre not alone.
