Youve poured over the reasons in your mind.
You pick the wrong people.
You try at the wrong times.
You try too hard.
You dont try enough.
That you havent found the right person.
You start to wonder if youre truly just not meant to have a long-lasting love.
it’s crucial that you know that love isnt as simple as people paint it out to be.
Sometimes, it is you.
Love can be difficult and draining and something you have to learn to navigate through.
Some days are better than others.
We say we arent ready.
Sometimes, its them.
Sometimes people fall in love and its one sided.
You are ready for them, but youre not what theyre looking for.
Youre wonderful, they say.
Youre perfect, they insist.
They just arent ready.
And so you feel the distance as they let you go, while you attempt to recover.
it’s crucial that you know that love isnt escaping you because youre unworthy of love.
Its not passing you by because of timing or the universe or because of fate.
The truth is much less poetic than these conclusions: sometimes, its just the wrong fit.
As simple as that.
Because life and love dont work within our timelines.
They dont cater to what we want, when we want.
It doesnt mean we are always successful.
The truth is, love isnt escaping you; yourexpectationsof what it should look like are.
Theres this common narrative that tells us when someone leaves you, it was never love at all.
I dont buy into that, this idea that farewells extinguish what once was.
Not all love is cut out for forever.
Besides, I truly believe love comes in many different forms, and I think theyreallworth remembering.
It comes to us in the ways we least expect and then it leaves us when weve outgrown it.
It leaves when we are no longer the person who asked for it to come in.
Love isnt escaping you, its preparing you for the next chapter in your life.
Its allowing you to make your choices and learn from your mistakes.
Its letting you learn everything you know you want, and everything you refuse to deal with.
Every time its seemed to take off, its really been asking you to take a step forward.
Its been asking you to grow, to learn, to become.
Love makes an impression.
Love knows exactly what its doing, even when we dont.
Even when we desperately wish we understood.
Perhaps not the way youve anticipated.
Maybe it shows up in your friendships, whove been by your side for years.
Maybe, it shows up in yourself and how much youve grown to adore who youve become.
How it was so beautifully worth waiting for.
