if you wanted me, youd be herewould have taken that flightyou wouldnt have questioned itquestioned meyou would have wanted to take a chance,in person, regardless of worries held captive in your mindyou would have trusted everything would be alright
you would be herenext to me, finding ways to work through the paininstead of fighting it backyou wouldnt have played off my own wordsyou would have reminded me to ease through the pastasked to give us more genuine timeyou would have tried to battle through the difficultiesinstead of staying behind, fueling the fire
you would not have let me go so easilyyou would have asked, what else can i doinstead of sayingwhy should i do any more
you would have devised a plan, made a moveknowing all i ever did was make movesacross the worldacross countriesacross citiesleaving behind friends and family to constantly say goodbyebut if you wanted me, you would have made changes, too
you would have owned those changesknowing honestly, truthfullythere was only one change you needed to dobut you allowed me to easily walk away from youwere you waiting for an excuse, waitingfor me to be exhausted and have already moved on?guilting me into believing everything was my fault
but if you loved me, you would have said,i will always be thereinstead of saying, why cant you be here?
because when you love someoneyou do what you gotta do to be with themeven if that requires taking a riskclenching onto your heartletting yourself go slightly but not giving upeven if theres the fear of crashing and burningi cant count on my fingers all the timesi took that risk for youcouldnt you ever take that risk for me?
i keep convincing myself youll be herehave bought the flight or conquered that plan, the onewe already decided months agobut i know, deep through the aches and the pains,as much as i want to say i am wrong,im certain that if you loved me the way you said you did, you would be here
