Dont text too much before the first date.
Dont text too soon after the first date.
Dont sleep together until the third date.

Amy Humphries
Dont sleep together until the fifth date.
Dont be too available.
Dont be too distant.
Dont respond too quicklymake them wait so you dont look needy.
But dont make them wait too longtheyll lose interest.
Dont date just one person; it assumes exclusivity.
Dont date too many people though; you dont want a reputation.
Dont express feelings too quickly, whatever too quickly means.
Dont ask about labels or commitment.
Is your head spinning yet?
We refrain from embracing genuine connection because its weird to admit we really liked someone on the first date.
We pretend we arent interested at first to avoid looking desperate or needy.
Its clear why our generation has fallen into this trapbeing authentic and vulnerable ishard.
Its human nature to protect ourselves, to avoid pain, and to evade rejection.
To put ourselves out there in our entirety is dangerous because we could get hurt.
And we probably will.
Does it put us at greater risk of getting hurt?
Thats why we dont do it.
Thats why we created these parameters around dating.
So fuck the rules.
