Life is hard.

But why did nobody ever tell us this growing up?
Its almost like we were set up for failure.
Maybe our parents should have been more honest with us.
Because life is damn hard.
Go to school, go to college, get a job, get married, start a family.
Thats all peachy, but its not realistic for all of us.
Some of us cant find jobs.
Some of us cant pay our student loans.
Not all of us can afford to pay outrageous rent on a starting salary.
And relationships are damn hard today.
Why does it have to be so hard?
Im aware that its making me strong, but some days I feel like I could break.
Whats the trick to an effortless life?
Because the truth is, nobody told us we would be living paycheck to paycheck.
Nobody told me I wouldnt have my dream career at 23.
I was told I could do whatever I wanted.
I could achieve anything.
I had my whole life ahead of me.
And I still do.
But growing up, I dont feel the expectations given to us are realistic.
At least not in todays society.
Some days its hard to get up.
Some days I struggle to do the bare minimum.
But I can do anything I want!
Thats what they told me.
If life feels hard, its because it is.
Youre not the only one struggling.
Some just hide it better than others.
So the next time life knocks you down, remember all that youve overcome.
Be proud that youre making it.
If you wake up every day and go to a job that pays you, youre doing well.
If you feed yourself every night, youre doing well.
At the end of the day, were all just trying to do the best we can.
Social media gives us a false reality, and nobody is as perfect as they seem.
The grass seems greener because thats how they want you to perceive it.
Who knows whats really going on.
Maybe that person with the perfect life cried himself to sleep last night.
Life is damn hard, for all of us.
Im thankful for everything I have.
Im hopeful for more.
I will continue to work hard daily to get where I want to be in life.
Then I will work even harder.
Were all just doing our best.
The next time you think, why is life so hard?
Just remember, youve survived everything that has been thrown at you thus far.
And youll keep surviving.
