But it’s not wild enough.
The thriller is certainly suspenseful, but the ending might leave some viewers cold.
[Major spoilers ahead!]

Luise Heyer is excellent as Klara inThe Calendar Killer.
The Calendar Killertakes place over the course of a few hours leading up to midnight.
The basic setup ofThe Calendar Killeris immediately engaging.
Klaras background involves horrific abuse from her politician husband, Martin.

However, considering the extensive nature of Martins crimes, the ending could have beenwaymore cathartic.
Towards the end, it is revealed that[final spoiler warning]Jules is the Calendar Killer.
The twist itself is good.

Jules has a lot on his mind. (pictured: Sabin Tambrea)
And if you dont see it coming, its a huge moment.
What might be a letdown is how the entire situation is resolved.
Klara arrives home, and Martin arrives shortly after.

Adding a stronger moment of revenge would have completely changed the feeling of the movie. (pictured: Luise Heyer, Friedrich Mücke)
If she doesnt, Jules kills the woman.
Klara refuses to be controlled by Jules.
She doesnt kill Martin, and instead stabs Jules in the foot in an attempt to get away.
The movie ends as we learn that Martin is going to prison for five years.
If youre like me, that final reveal might leave you conflicted.
Hes been an abuser for alongtime, and the damage hes done is irreparable.
Maybe Martin breaks free and Jules stabs him, then Klara stabs Jules.
Or Juless dad walks in during a struggle and shoots both Martin and Jules.
