When you finally meet someone who makes you feel alive, the skeptic inside of you takes a vacation.
You start to believe in love again.
You start to have hope again.

People who looked perfect for you on paper.
You thought that numbness was a product of growing up.
That you would never feel butterflies swarm in your stomach like you used to when you were young.

That you would never again get that silly rush of adrenaline when you saw someones name on your screen.
You assumed that you were too old, too mature, for that kind of thing.
You thought that your past heartaches turned you into askeptic, unwilling to love again.

You thought that your struggles in life turned you cold.
But it turns out those strong feelings were only hibernating.
Waiting for the right person to come along.
A person who makes you smile more in a day than you have in the past year.
A person who makes you feel lightheaded every time they kiss you.
A person who makes you feel electrified just by being in the same room as you.
They never made your heart race.
They never made your pulse pound.
They never gave you an experience like this.
Before you met this new person, you never realized how powerful love could feel.
You always thought of it as something easy and comfortable.
Something that made you feel safe, but not much else.
When you finally meet someone who makes you feel alive, a part of you is afraid.
If they can cause such extreme feelings of happiness, imagine how it would feel if they hurt you.
Imagine how hard you would cry, how long it would take you to get over them.
Quite frankly, its terrifying to you.
You arent sure what to expect.
Being with them would be like stepping into the unknown.
You see the point of putting yourself out there.
You get why such crazy, stupid things are done in the name of love.
When you finally meet someone who makes you feel alive, the skeptic inside of you takes a vacation.
You start tobelieve in loveagain.
You start to have hope again.
Maybe it just took you a little while longer than most to find the person meant for you.
