He is a Goldendoodle, half Golden Retriever and half Standard Poodle.

Absolutely, and I applaud anyone who is in the position to provide that for any animal.
No I do not.
I grew up in a home in which we bred our (purebred) Maltese twice.
We couldnt have made a better decision!
People who are allergic to dogs simply cant go to any shelter and take any dog home.
In fact, several dogs Ive seen at shelters were surrendered therebecausesomeone in the house was allergic.
I dont think its a bad thing to buy a puppy.
I dont think it makes someone evil, or a dog murderer.
We dont need less breeders, we need more responsible ones.
We need more responsible, educated pet owners.
Bad breeders and puppy mills exist because people dont want to pay a lot of money for their pets.
Lets end puppy mills, lets end bad breeders, lets spay and neuter our pets.
Lets try and eliminate the problem at its source.

Encourage others to adopt rescue dogs, but dont shame them if they choose not to do so.
Dont attack me on the sidewalk and mock me for the choices you assume I made.
Oh and one more thing!
We got our Goldendoodle from a rescue shelter.
He was a stray, found skinny and roaming the streets.
He refuses to go into any basement.
He had health problems we had to take care of.
He eats our food when we arent looking.
We dont know how old he is.
But we love him so much.
