Youre allowed to move on.

Youre allowed to be curious about, and even excited for, the future.

Youre allowed to stop looking to the past.

Youre allowed to stop visiting painful memories, and youre allowed to stop visiting the good ones, too.

Youre allowed to be someone without them.

Youre allowed to be someone new.

Youre allowed to fall in love without them, with new eyes and new cities.

Youre allowed to breathe.

Youre allowed to smile.

Youre allowed to be happy.

Youre allowed to explore new literature and ideas and music and art.

Youre allowed to grow.

Youre allowed to transcend.

Youre allowed to drop off the baggage and let go of the guilt.

Youre allowed to appreciate them for what they were, when they were.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Youre allowed to miss them from time to time, too.

Youre allowed to peer backwards and sometimes wish things were different.

Youre more than allowed.

And in fact, you must.

Who in the end, were no good for you.

After all, they have.
